The Decision Kit
Know why you want it before you ask whether you can afford it.
This is the method every DeepMoney Thinking kit is built on. Buy it once and you own the part the situation kits are made from.
The method
Six forces, in one view.
| Part | Role | What it examines |
|---|---|---|
| Reality | The field | The actual conditions: money, prices, contracts, obligations, time. |
| Perception | A force | What you believe and expect about money, including the rules you did not choose. |
| Valuation | A force | What you are actually trying to achieve or protect. |
| Capability | A force | Whether you can carry out what this commits you to. |
| Architecture | A force | The shape of the choice you were handed: defaults, friction, deadlines, incentives. |
| Adaptation | The loop | How this decision changes the next one. |
Worked case
A limit before a quote.
Jonas drives a nine-year-old car that works. A dealer offers a three-year lease at €289 a month with €2,000 down. Before he opens the quote he writes down one limit: his fixed monthly outflow must not rise by more than €150.
| Option, over 36 months | Confirmed cash out | Against his limit |
|---|---|---|
| A Lease the new car | €2,000 + €10,404 + €2,280 = €14,684 | +€323 / month — fails |
| B Buy a used car outright | €7,500 + €900 + €1,680 = €10,080 | +€196 / month — fails |
| C Keep the current car | €1,600 + €1,440 = €3,040 | the current path |
The limit did the work, not the comparison. Both replacements are removed before anything is scored — which is the entire reason for writing a limit down before you see an offer rather than after.
Fictional example; illustrative amounts.

The honest case
Who it is for.
Buy it if
You have a real decision in front of you — a car, a contract, a move, a job that pays less, a commitment somebody wants an answer on — and you have been turning it over for longer than is comfortable without getting closer to an answer.
Don't, if
You already write decisions down before you make them, review them without rewriting history, and set your limits before you look at offers. And it will not help if you buy it and never open it. It is a working document; the writing is the mechanism.

FAQ
Questions before buying.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is an educational reflection tool and does not provide personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
Which currency does it work in?
Any currency. The method is about the structure of a decision; the workbook accepts the figures you enter.
How long does it take?
It depends on the decision. The pre-commitment check takes five minutes; the full method is designed to be worked through rather than read once.
Do I need the spreadsheet?
No. It helps with comparisons, but the written method stands on its own.
Can I use it with clients?
No. The licence is for one person and personal use.
What if it doesn't help?
It cannot make a decision for you. Its purpose is to make the forces around that decision visible, so you can judge them with greater clarity.
